  • Let's Talk Football - NFL 2009/2010

With the start of the NFL Football Season tonite, I thought that it was time to start talking about the game.

Who do you root for? I am a Chicago Bears fan. Chicagoans have high hopes that our new quarterback will lead us to the big game at the end of the season.

With the early exit of the Cubs, and the White Sox, out of the playoff hunt, my sports interests have turned to football.

    How about you?

Well, I'm a huge Jets fan. I'm hoping that Mark Sanchez is as good as advertised, but I don't expect much from a rookie. Hopefully it'll be a good learning experience and he'll become a really good NFL QB. I watched the pre-season games and saw some good signs, but we shall see.

Go Chiefs...*palm to forehead* I don't have that much faith in this team this year. At best we're go 8-8. We face the Ravens in week 1...

            Go MIZZOU Tigers!

                Re: Let's Talk Football

I still think it's unbelievable that here, in the nation's second largest market, we are entering our 15thseason without a National Football League team.

We missed out on expansion when they brought Houston into the league, because the folks here couldn't settle on one site.

Then, for the last several years - a renovated Coliseum. Maybe the Rose Bowl. A new football stadium in the Angel Stadium parking lot, part of a proposed "Anaheim Sportstown".

Yet here we in SoCal sit, without a team. I always disliked the Raiders, especially while they were here...and my heart, as a diehard Ram fan, was crushed when they moved to St. Louis.

Unlike some others I know, I cannot root for the "St. Louis" Rams. As a matter of fact, I have rooted for them to lose every game since they moved.

So my always favorite AFC team, the Chargers, have become my favorite team, though never with the same fervor I once had for the Rams.

I'm a bit concerned about Oakland tomorrow night. The Chargers should win, but Oakland's gonna be better.

And how about if the Chargers avoid the slow start this year. Wouldn't that be nice.

Last year just killed me, I was so upset at a lot of those games.

And yeah, Oakland always concerns me, it's hard to expect what they are going to do, and we have a what, 11 game winning streak going? Streaks are meant to be broken sooner or later.

But then again, we always seem to play better against the Raiders because of the rivalry.

I've been a Vikings fan my whole life, but with the Favre thing.... I just don't know. It makes me sad.

                        Go Niners?

                          But you got Peterson!

That guy was amazing today! 180 yards and 3 touchdowns! Definitely fun to watch.

I TiVod the game so I can watch it. I think I only got the last part of it, though.

Glad to hear it was a good game!

Any Fantasy Football players that had him were definitely happy today. Adrian Peterson and Drew Brees had huge performances today.
