  • Kurt Warner Retires

After 12 years in the NFL Kurt Warner, Super Bowl winning QB, has decided to end his playing career.

It is a day of mixed emotions for Cardinals fans, as we hate to see him leave, but are happy for him to be able to leave at the top of his game.

I had the chance to talk with him for a few moments a couple of years back in Flagstaff. He was very classy and generous with his time. He was appreciative of all his fans and even though he was on his way back to the hotel, he didn't mind spending a few minutes with the fans.

Not only is he a first ballot Hall of Famer on stats alone, but on class as well.

God speed Kurt and thank you for all that you've done for not only Arizona, but for the NFL as well.

I love the guy, too, and as far as class goes, he's one of the best ever. But I doubt he's a first ballot HOFer. He might not be a HOFer at all. Over a 16 year career, he made a squad only 12 times. In those 12 years, he only had 6 solid seasons. The other years, he was awful. Despite having, essentially, two great 3-year careers, I think he's a little short of HOF status.

Good luck to Kurt, but the Cards are in big trouble at QB next year.

sgtpeper, you make it seem as if Warner played most of his career for the Cardinals.

As a Rams fan, I'll always wish the best for him but I too am not sure that he's a surefire HOFer. Pulling up his career stats, he only had 2 great seasons with the Rams, three with the Cardinals plus his Super Bowl record is 1-2.

As much as I like to hate Matt Leinart, I wouldn't say that they're in deep trouble with him. Having Fitzgerald, Boldin, Breaston sure helps a lot.
