  • Cal State Fullerton gets a new baseball coach

I know we have a few college baseball fans out there, and a few Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine fans as well.

UC Irvine head baseball coach Dave Serrano has taken the head coaching job at Cal State Fullerton. Serrano is a former CSUF player and assistant coach and was named the 2007 National Coach of the Year as head coach at UC Irvine. Last week, George Horton, then the head coach at Fullerton accepted the head coaching job at Oregon that Serrano himself turned down. Serrano then sent out a statement denying any interest in the Fullerton job to the media. A week later, he changed his mind and went back on his word and took the job at Cal State Fullerton.

He's all yours. No one at UCI wants anything to do with the man at this point.

After Auggie and Horton, he certainly has some big shoes to fill.
