Who will buy the cubs?

I was wondering who do you think will buy the Chicago Cubs since the Tribune Company is looking to sell them?

Personally i hope that that either Bill Murray or Jimmy Buffett buy them.

The consensus is that they won't let Cuban buy them. The league will never agree to that sale. I really don't know the ins and outs of all of this. The subject was discussed on Chicago radio earlier tonite. They say that we are talking about a billion dollars here.

I think that as a fan, I am concerned with the future of Wrigley Field, if the Cubs are sold.

Why is Marc Cuban suddenly the devil?

He's taken a ho-hum NBA franchise and has made them into contenders every season. He's VERY passionate about his team, and why shoudln't he be. He spent enough money to buy them.

I'd love if Cuban wanted to buy the Dodgers or Angels, at least this way I know he wouldn't be afraid to pay some people.

A lot of Chicagoans would love it if Cuban bought the Cubs. He'd probably sit in the bleachers at Wrigley the way Bill Veeck used to. In fact, Harry Caray used to broadcast from there occasionally.

Cuban cares about winning and will spend to do so. He also respects the history of sports so Wrigley most likely would be saved. He'd be a great owner for the Cubs.

I've never had a problem with Cuban. If your spending that many billions on something, you should be allowed to complain when you see something wrong.

The biggest problem with Cuban gaining the team is will they sell it to him. There are rumors that they will not negotiate with him. One person who is being left out in the talks is Jerry Colangelo. He started the group that bought the D-Backs, he was then shown the backdoor for winning a World Series and spending too much money. He is a Chicago native and could like to get a partnership with some other guys and purchase the team. He is a dark horse where is Cuban is the pace horse.

Jerry Colangelo said awhile back he would pursue it. JC is a guy who makes it a priority to win. He ran the Suns so greatly while he was C.E.O. and also he's in charge of the USA Basketball team. I think he would be great for the cubs.
