I am so upset with myself. I spilled water on my ibook G4. I dried it off and it seemed to be working. I sat down to use it a little later and the screen was black. Now when I turn it on, it flickers on , then dies. I took the battery off and used a blow dryer to dry it out...but still nothing. I am really hoping that it will dry out overnight and work tomorrow. It's my only Mac in the house, our other computers are all PCs. I will be heart broken if it's dead.

Re: I fried my Mac Laptop!
It happened to me too last summer!!!
I took out the battery, opened up the "keyboard compartment", and let the iBook in the sun on a warm day, all day (except for the battery, that stayed in relative shade). Now mind you it was a good amount of water...waited a couple days for it to dry, it worked good as new!

Re: I fried my Mac Laptop!
sounds like a good time to buy an Intel Mac! Try to look at the bright side, huh. Take it into an Apple store, if you live near one, they may be able to salvage your hard drive info too.sigpic

Re: I fried my Mac Laptop!
I just don't have the extra $$ right now for a new computer. If I can't get it to work, I am going to be stuck using one of our PC's. I listed some items on Ebay today and had to use my hubby's Gateway. I was sooo frustrated with all the steps it took to get he pics on!
I work for a school district that has it's own Apple Certified tech, so he may be able to help me out.

I believe that if you work for a school you get a discount. I'm pretty sure they give a public employee discount at apple stores, look into it.sigpic
