No idea if this would help, but have you tried deleting the program while in Safe Mode? You said that you've found the program. I haven't manually removed any spyware or viruses in awhile, but I seem to remember going into Safe Mode to delete files and entries to the registry that I couldn't delete normally. Running SpyBot or deleting the program while in Safe Mode could work, not sure though.

These kinds of responses are about as inane as the Linux groupies taking every oppertunity to promote their OS. Not the kind of thing that's feedback-worthy, but I thought I'd do my best to discourage it. And I'm posting this on a Mini Mac, before we go to OS wars. :P

Here's the programs I use on my PC. They are both free, and I would reccomend them both:

AdAware Personal Edition (anti-spyware)

Avast! Antivirus 4

Additionally, there is a program called HijackThis that may be of use to you. However, unlike the tools above, HijackThis shows you a large log of items that it will allow you to delete, and not all of them are bad. The above programs are highly unlikely to wreck your system if you delete everything they reccomend, but if you delete everything in HijackThis you'll likely do some serious damage to your system.

The best bet for finding if there's anything in your log that's worth getting rid of is asking someone who is familiar with the program. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those kinds of people. However, more web sites are starting to come up like this one: HijackThis Log Analyzer that will look at your log and let you know about any of the common issues the analyzer knows about.

While I should be shot for saying this, Microsoft's new antispyware program is actually good (probably because they didn't write it!). I recommend it.

From what I've read, no single anti-spyware program will be able to catch everything. You may have to try some or even all of the ones people have suggested.

Something else to keep in mind...
Once you do get this resolved, you may want to clear your browser cache and delete all cookies just to make sure there aren't any lurking items in your cache folder that could respawn the demon that took over your machine!

Also, I would highly suggest that if you don't have them already; get some anti-virus software and a firewall. Even free firewalls, like the Sygate Personal Firewall or the Windows firewall can keep spyware from downloading malicious programs from the internet.

Up.. time to promote linux.. it is not virus proof.. but hey... how many virus are they on linux VS windows.. (and it is cheap and works perfect on any computer..)

I was making a joke....

Use the following to get rid of it.. :safemode, spybot, Mirosoft Spyware thingie... That wouks for me... (make sure the 2 are up to date.... I updated both and caught about 20 small ones alone.... I use mozilla firefox... so i rarely get any big ones.. the small ones slip through when Downloading.... or someone using AOL or Internet Explorer....)

Unfortunately, in the long run it'll be a bad idea to depend on this program for the same reason that can be said for so much Microsoft software. Because so many people will download Microsoft's anti-spyware tool, all the spyware creators will make workarounds and backdoors to be ignored or un-IDed by the tool, and Microsoft won't be able to keep up.

Spybot and Ad-Aware are popular, but still have a bit more obscurity going for them with the general populace. You generally hear about these programs first from someone else who keeps their computer clean and is knowledgable. With Microsoft, you will have every soccer mom and grandpa downloading that tool because Microsoft told them to, and those kinds are the spyware people's bread and butter.
