  • Appdata Question for Windows VIsta?

    So okay I'll be honest.

I dont know squat about computers.

If I copied my documents folder in vista would i be copying my appdata folder too?

    it reads:

    C:/users/username/appdata

    and then documents is

    C:/users/username/documents

i know diddly squat so if anyone can explain this to me it would be helpful....

No. It is easy to tell from what you posted that they are two distinct folders - one not being a subset of the other. Copying one would therefore not copy the other.

      Thank you.
I wasn't sure because I read somewhere that AppData was a hidden file (?) and it just confused me kind because they are both under the /username/ folder.

if you copied the entire C:/users/username/ folder, you would be copying both the documents folder AND the hidden AppData folder as well. of course, along with anything else in the /username/ folder.
