I've had Earthlink since I first got internet access 6 or so years ago. I guess I'm to lazy to change to anything else, but I've never had any problems with it in all these years. I also am to lazy to change email addys. I've grown attached to it since I've had the same one as long as I've had access.

www.dslextreme.com is what i use. it's a service that runs over SBC/PacBell lines, so it's really the same copper. but their customer service rocks and their website had the most information i needed to setup my wireless network at home.
i was a loyal earthlink customer for many years, but when the DSL prices dropped to $22 or so and earthlink couldn't come close (after 3 months that is) i changed. i did ask them why they were so expensive for DSL, they just said sorry... sigh.
for old die hard earthlink dial up customers, you can get a like a $10/mo account from them to keep your email addy AND a back up dial up service in the case your DSL (or other broadband) goes down. mine has had 2 long downtimes (a day each) in the last two years (yes, my fam and i were sad).
Comspan, myself. Decent enough and pretty reliable, although in an area where the maximum available speed is 28k, it doesn't make much of a difference who the ISP is.
I was very happy with Earthlink, but when I moved they didn't offer service. I now use Cox Cable. So far so good.
Folks
I'd like to sing a song about the American Dream
About me
About you
About the way our American hearts beat way down in the bottoms of our chests
About that special feeling we get in the cockles of our hearts
Or maybe below the cockles
Maybe in the sub-cockle area
Maybe in the liver
Maybe in the kidneys
Maybe even in the colon
We don't know
verizon...we like it so far....oh my BF has issues with it...something about enforcing th Ip and linking it to a mac address....he complained aout it and we got like 3 months free...
A residence doesn't need a T1, unless you are running a call center from your living room. Or perhaps you have outsourced your children and husband to India and need the extra bandwidth to communicate with them.
MiceChat 101: Be NICE! If you don't play well with others, you are in the wrong sandbox.
How long does it take to install DSL service in any area? That might seem like a vague question, but I keep searching around the Internet for DSL service at home and seems as though no one's come to our neighborhood yet. I did find Adelphia Cable, but their rate was $50!! I'm getting really frustrated because we're still on AOL Dial-Up (and I was under the impression that AOL doesn't provide direct broadband service like SBC, am I wrong?).
P.S. Dusty: I saw your column on MA this morning. Will you get your own board?
