For future reference.... just because something is allowed, it is not necessarily a good idea.

This sucks. But it happens all the time.

Not much you can do. Since you have the s/n, enter it here: http://www.inspice.com/aprod-code/doc/isp.htm

Apple says to check with the police, but I doubt they can help.

I left my mini at the gym and it was gone moments later. The best you can do is learn from it and hold on to your stuff.

Then, since you've already enjoyed a new iPod, save up and replace it with a refurbished model from Apple.

Sorry it happened to you too.

                    Re: Stolen Ipod

Real-world economic advice, since it sounds needed:

A manufacturer is not at liability to replace something because the customer was robbed. That's more what insurance is aimed at, although I don't think you can get insurance on something like an iPod.

It's too bad, but life isn't fair like that sometimes.

                      Re: Stolen Ipod

Send the s/n to Apple and the police, if it turns up at either place they'll contact you. If the thing breaks and they send it to apple for fixing, they'll see that it's stolen, contact the authorities, and return it to you. This is a big IF, but it's worth a try. I personally always carry my iPod around and NEVER EVER EVER let it off of me.
