I saw the Disney mp3 i think they have one in silver and black with Mickey or Jack Skellington. They also have the caring case as well.Originally posted by aashee (Farter Extraordinair)Wow. If regular MiceChatters saw this thread they might think we are normal. Thanks Dan & Gina!

Don't do an iPod, because then you have to use iTunes and it gets all confusing for a six year old. While iTunes is a decent program for adults, I think a 6 year old would be confused, especially with the music store and what else.
Get some little flash player with MP3 playing. It shows up in Windows as a connected drive and you just drag the icons of your songs to it, no iTunes or anything else necessary.

You can buy my roommate's used iPod Shuffle for $50Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I'm thinking the iPod shuffle might be good, since you already have iTunes on your computer already. Then you can just make him a kid-friendly play list and set him up. The shuffle is really easy- it has no screen, just the basic buttons.A signature should go here.

Re: MP3 player for a child, any idea's?
Apple.com has refurbished original gen iPod Shuffles staring at $49 in their store and they come with a free arm band or a free external battery pack. They also have original gen 2 gig iPod Nanos for $99 in black or white. Both come with an Apple one year warranty and 90 days of phone support. You can also add an extended service plan that is for 2 years.
To get to the refurbs, click on "store", then go down toward the bottom on the right side where it says, "Save" and you'll find way too many iPods to choose from.
