  • News Knotts announces the return of the California Mission dioramas!

I just received an update on my Facebook news feed from Knotts that they are working on building new California Mission dioramas and that they will be returning them to the park! This is awesome news! I do miss these and remember seeing these during my 4th grade field trip there.

This is GREAT news. Thank you Knotts for bringing back a little bit of nostalgia!

I remember the Mission trail from early visits to the park. The news was also on the official Knotts Twitter feed, as well.

Took a look at the KBF Facebook post. From what I read, it said the missions were being "restored" by a craftsman working live in Ghost Town, which I took to mean that the originals have been in storage and are being fixed up.

The park spokesperson on FB was being very vague about what would be done with the mission models and how/where they would be displayed. Instead, it said the craftsman could answer all questions.

Fantastic news. i am glad they are interested in the park's history
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

The Santa Barbara Mission is being restored on the porch beside the Toy Barn in Ghost Town. I wish I had photos to share as the guy restoring the model has set up lilliputian scaffolding around the model's exterior as if the mission is being restored by its little residents. Cute!

We witnessed the Mission being restored in Ghost Town, too. So exciting! However, the craftsman didn't seem very talkative so we didn't bother him for info....
