  • [Question] Viva Las Vegas help

Go so need a good hotel... at a good price and this weekend... AHHHH

WE only need for one night as it's just a stop on our 28 hour trip to disneyland!!

We stayed in Circus before but it was the manor, is the tower any better? Or is there another hotel thats at a decient price. We would like to stay on the strip so we can see the sights that night...

    Suggestions?

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has a toll-free information/reservation line. They can give you current rates and availability for all the major hotels. They're usually rack rates--you can probably find better deals online--but it's a good place to start.

The number is 1-877-VISIT LV (847-4858).

We drive down from Boise, Id a couple times a year and are always able to get one of the hotels in Primm, NV (which is 40 miles closer to disneyland) for about 25 dollars. I just checked on hotels.com and they had whiskey pete's for 22 dollars a night. the rooms are average but for the price, outstanding.

      hope this helps.

Are you looking for a hotel room for tonight? Next weekend? Friday? Saturday? Sunday? How much do you want to spend?

Staying on the strip you're gonna get a crummy room at either Circus Circus or the Riviera for that weekend at that price.

If you want a fun place to stay, go to the Golden Nugget Downtown. It's $99 a night that weekend, and is the safest, most upgraded hotel in downtown Vegas. They have a ridiculously awesome pool that has a waterslide through a shark tank! It's awesome! If you like pools, the Golden Nugget is the best! Golden Nugget

Let me know if you want another suggestion, but I don't think you'll find a hotel as good as the Nugget for that good of a price next weekend.

Las Vegas Hotels - Las Vegas Shows - Las Vegas Entertainment | VEGAS.com has some good rates, I haven't been to the Golden Nugget, but I don't know about taking kids down there or if kids are a factor, but I wouldn't take my daughter there. Primm might not be too bad or have you considered locals casinos? South Pointe isn't too far away from the strip and is pretty new.

why dont you just skip Vegas and stay at State line the most they charge is like $45 for weekend stay and if you want to see vegas its just a 20 min drive away or you can stay at the SAHARA and they are $65 a night and its located on the strip and thats better than staying at Circus Circus

I would recommend the Luxor. Not only is it close to the end of the strip, but it's usually cheap; plus it's just a cool hotel.

                        Re: Viva Las Vegas help

Shouldn't be too difficult, I just put Saturday into expedia and got 16 results on the strip for under $200, including Tropicana, Hilton, Imperial Palace, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Planet Hollywood...........

The Tower rooms at Circus Circus were just redone with flat screens, etc., and is where we're staying next month since we have a kid in tow.

                        A bientot.

When we went in August for a wedding, we got the Hilton Suites off the stip (near the convention center) for $60 per night on Priceline.

When we've made the drive to CO a few times, we've either stayed in Primm NV (CA/NV state line) or in Mesquite (NV/AZ (on the way to Utah) state line) and both have clean hotels, for very low prices.

                          I'd look into it.

                            Re: Viva Las Vegas help

I've been too Vegas ALOT, with and without kids. You didn't mention price or if there are kids, but here is my quick general advice:

                            Stay away from:

Circus Circus: terrible part of town, terrible rooms for the most part, very old, bad food, dirty. If you want to visit, pay the cab money.

Downtown: The Golden Nugget is ok, but downtown isn't. Some budget hunters and old school lovers dig it, but stay on the Strip. It isn't that much more money.

Just off the strip: Unless there is a HUGE price difference, don't do the Hilton or Rio or The Orleans. The taxi cost of a few trips could have paid for a strip room.

Stay away from these hotels: Riviera, Strat, Circus, Trop (nice pool but old and occasional unsavory characters), Sahara

Value on the Strip: Imperial Palace, Wild Bills, Excalibur,

Mid level value on Strip (sometimes): Luxor, Monte Carlo, Flamingo, Harrahs, Bally's

Codes are all over. For some reason this weekend seems fairly expensive.

We booked Circus Circus at 90 a night... Thanks for all the input...

Of to disneyland in 45 minutes... (There is 28 hours worth of driving before hand)
