Thanks everyone for the nice comments although admittedly Timmy55 took 90% of them, I just like to take the credit.
I can't wait for next year's Haunt.
In our large group there were at least 3 to 4 heavy duty camera's around so it is definitely doable but I think bringing a heavy duty camera should depend more on if you are going for the experience or to take pictures.
