    New Huanted Castle ride coming in 2010

    News Plus Notes theme park blog has a time lapse video of construction of the new Haunted Castle at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

    The new Haunted Castle will be a massive dark ride featuring state of the art effects and will be three times larger than the previous ride.
    Here is a animatic of the ride featuring concept art. Note that you go underground backward in the ride which explains the new super basement they are building.

    Good job Atomic bear you are always on top of Dark ride news. Do you know whos doing HC is it Sally or someone else?

      Big kudos to SCBB for building just a plain, classic-style dark ride. An "interactive" shoot 'em up element is not a requirement. Good for them for realizing that. I can't wait!
      Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

        Good point jesterMn you can not beat the classic style.Also it looks like its a trackless ride car from the art.

          I think it's really awesome how the new ride will go under the boardwalk as well... just makes it even more creepy!

            Looks like a company called R & R amusement designs is doing the design part for HC with some other company.While the animatronic pieces and sets are being done by Sally corp.

              NewsPlusNotes blog is reporting on the progress of the new new Haunted Castle. The boardwalk also has construction photos on their Facebook page. I am not sure who is doing the props and figures, but there are pictures of giant insects that were made in-house according to the Facebook page.

                Cool! I too am glad to see that they are realizing that a classic dark ride is a good choice.

                  A classic dark ride without "interactive" shooting, good stuff!
                  Why can't Knotts do something like this for Ghost Town with an Old West theme?
