  • Trip Report Walt Disney's Barn at the L.A. Live Steamers Railroad Museum.

Hi, y'all! I thought I'd share this video of my trip to Walt Disney's Barn at the L.A. Live Steamers' Railroad Museum in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, CA. This was Walt's backyard workshop from which he ran the switches for his home railroad the Carolwood Pacific. Walt's desire for a place to build a bigger railroad eventually led to the construction of Disneyland. Walt was a charter member of the L.A. Live Steamers, and his daughter donated the barn after the sale of his home. The first half of the video is the train ride around the property with exterior shots of the barn. The second half is inside the barn. Enjoy!

Nice video. I will be sending a link to my dad right away. He has always wanted to go there, but has never been in town when it is open. I am sure he will now make sure he is here!

Yes, I had heard about it for years, but it's hard to find the time when it's only open the third sunday of the month. Luckily, I saw it on Huell Howser the week before that Sunday and it made me go out. Great hidden gem in Los Angeles.
