  • [Pictures] Flying Over Vegas (photo heavy)

Since I technically work in the tourism industry I figured that I would show some Vegas love. These are around Vegas's McCaren airport, the Hoover Dam, our fuel farm, over Summerlin, and Red Rock State Park. Enjoy.

He felt like his life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

Well, color me confused! I live in AZ and had heard the Hoover Dam bypass was open to traffic, then see your photos with big sections of the bridge missing. I just checked and yes, it is open. So I guess you took these sometime before October 9th when traffic started across the bridge.

Next time I would say how you "built an amazing scale model of the Hoover Dam" and advertise the picture as such. It would absolutely blow people's minds! It truly looks more like a model than real life, it has some kind of "fake" looking quality to it, even though it's most impressive. But it's totally believable as a model... the most detailed model ever created, lol!

Thanks for the stunning pictures. We have been to Las Vegas in January 2008 and of course we made a trip to Hoover Damm and to the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately we couldn't see anyhing of the Canyon, because it was snowing and foggy.

Thanks guys, the pictures where taken January/February time frame. I've been on the night shift and in the paint booth since then so haven't been flying so much. Oh, and even though I work for a Grand Canyon tour company I have NEVER been to the Grand Canyon. Seen it from about 30,000 feet once and been through the diorama at DL, that's it... I think it's kind of funny.

I should've made something up about the dam pic, I think it's dam funny that it looks like a dam model. But it's just a dam photo shop job...

Hopefully the bypass makes the roads a lot easier for commercial traffic. It should shave a substantial amount of time/miles off their post 9/11 commute. Tink and I took the kids over Labor Day weekend and they held a bike race on the bypass (was before it was opened to traffic). It is a HUGE bridge, a perfect compliment to a monument like the Dam.
