  • Your coastering life

    Hi,

As both a theme park fan and coaster enthusiasts, I wonder, how many true coaster aficionados are on these boards
So, come out of the woods you guys and gals

And how many roller coasters have you ridden in your life? I'm personnaly at 335 at the moment, but still counting

    Re: Your coastering life

I'm at 135. I've only added a few new credits so far this year, this was when I was in the Philippines on business.

We are leaving for FL on Friday and we will be getting the WDW, USO and SWO credits.

Honestly, I'm kind of over the "Riding coasters just to ride them thing". I'm not going to go out of my way to ride a kiddie coaster or anything.

But we are planning on taking a couple of "Coaster" trips next year ... but we also plan on doing some regular site-seeing when we are gone too.

Different ones? Or just the number of times on a coaster?

No idea about myself. I've been riding them for over 30 years. Documenting them seems to me like too much time away from the coasters!

Well, I usually ride all the coasters I come across, simply because sometimes even kiddie coasters can be a lot of fun

            Re: Your coastering life

Since I Live in WA chances to ride coasters are few and far between. That's probably why I have had the time to be able to document them. That having been said I have been on 63 different coasters for 192 rides. I haven't added anything to my count so far this year, but I will be able to add DL's BTMR and Space Mountain to my list. I'm going to try to get Gadget's GO caoster as well. A credit is a credit.

Next year I want to get out to Silverwood and back out to Cedar Point for Maverick.

              Silverwood must be so cool
Especially Tremors with it's amazing selection of tunnels. Would love to visit some day...eventually!

I haven't been there yet, but I hear good things about it. It's an over 6 hour drive to get there for me, so I have never made the trek. I say every summer that I'm gonna go there, but never get it done. Hopefully next summer.

I'm up to a little over 400 different coasters. It's never enough

Mellonballer: Go to Silverwood....it's totally worth the drive. Their two woodies are stellar.

I'm at 235, but lately all of my attention has been building roller coaster out out of the sets you buy from Coasterdynamix. The company sells two steel type coasters and 1 wooden coaster that actually work. They are not cheap but they are a blast to play with once you get them together. I have a room dedicated to this plus all of my Faller amusement park models which I have obtained in the past 5 years (not all built but I am working on them). This hobby can be expensive but it is very fun.

I've hit 43...but it was really only last year when I got out of New England and have had a chance to visit more parks besides WDW and SFNE. So since probably everyone of those past coaster #20 has happened in the last 11 months I say I'm doing pretty well.

Well, I dont know how many, but Ive been to Magic Mtn more times than I care to admit, Knotts a few times, and Great America in Nor Cal once. So....quite a few coasters in my time.
