  • Favorite Non-Disney Dark Ride

Since we are getting into Hallloween season, what's your favorite non-disney owned dark ride or maze?

One of my favorites was the Magic Pagoda at Magic Mountain back in '70s. It was this weird walk thru with moving surfaces, flying rubber chickens and a huge Budda that did something I can remember.

The theme park in Denver doesn't have any real dark rides . But they do do (hehe... do do) a good job on their haunted houses around halloween.
Anyone up for a Colorado Micechatters meet-up?

I've heard of that before, not really a dark-ride but it is a walk-through

not many non-Disney companies actually do dark-rides so it's a challenge to really find any that would work (sometimes I blame lack of effective characters but I really find that it's probably a limit of creativity and budget that is preventing other companies from creating dark-rides on par with Disney)

if your willing to count Jurassic Park though it's the one that's got my vote (more of a themed attraction then a dark-ride though)

The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man at Islands of Adventure - best dark ride.

I would say that Spider-Man is the most technologically advanced dark ride, as the term "best" is very subjective. Frankly, I think that many other Disney attractions offer a superior experience- both in theme and execution.

Oops. I thought you meant that you thought Spider-Man was the best dark ride, including the Disney ones. Sorry, my mistake.

Spiderman at IOA is the best dark ride but in Europe there is Efteling with some pretty neat dark rides as well .

The best dark ride that i've actually experienced (can't wait to try Spiderman in a month!) was Knotts Beary Tales. If i think really really hard i can still remember the fresh baked boysenberry pie smell throughout it
Will there be screams when the sun sets,

                    Re: Favorite Non-Disney Dark Ride

Just got back from Pennsylvania and rode "Hershey's Chocolate World." Basically, an EPCOT style educational ride of making chocolate.

From the sights, sounds and smells, we were very, very impressed.

                    And hungry.

                    Peace!

Men in Black Alien Attack for me, since it's freshest in my mind after a couple rides on it 2 hours ago.

Spiderman at IOA wins for me.

Men In Black a close second
