  • News ESPN to open on the Las Vegas Strip.

It looks like ESPN will be opening up a sports lounge of some type at the Linq on the Las Vegas Strip. Could this be the start of something more? Could this lead to perhaps a Disney branded hotel/casino somewhere?

While owned by the Disney corporation it is a very different brand very few people associate the two and the people that it is marketing too are very different as well. No chance that Disney ever opens a Disney themed Casino or resort in Vegas it just doesn't fit the brand.
BGood! It's not just my motto its my name!

I am sure there is room for a "Starlord's Totally Awesome Night Club" in Vegas as well.

I have always wished for a Disney type casino but I know it doesn't fit their style at all. ESPN is owned by Disney but it definitely is ran separate.

The Walt Disney Company owns 80% of ESPN.

This new project is a strategic alliance with Caesars that will place an ESPN studio in the LINQ casino, that will make Caesars the official data and odds provider to ESPN for the purposes of aiding people using the network to bet on sports, and that will integrate advertising for Caesars into ESPN's programming.

I am of the belief that with the right approach and with a fair amount of imagination Disney could create some sort of casino that wouldn't draw any criticism.

This alliance is very similar to the one Caesars formed with The Bleacher Report a few days ago.

Wasn’t there already an ESPN zone in Vegas? Or was that Fox Sports?

That was an ESPN Zone that has since been replaced.

There was already Disney-like Hotel and Casino Resorts back then. Some are still here, but dethemed a little and some are completely rebranded and removed.

You can thank Steven Wynn for the Mirage(1989) and Treasure Island at the Mirage (1993) for its heavily themed resort at the time when he was the CEO of Mirage resorts before MGM bought his company.

The Mirage had and still has the romantic tropical Polynesian Island theme with its free Volcano show. Treasure Island at the Mirage at the time was heavily themed to be a 18th century Pirate Caribbean village with a romantic tropical island vibe shared with the Mirage. Since, it was a sister resort to the Mirage. It had the free 'Battle of Buccaneer Bay stunt show!' Think of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean attraction blow up and expanded upon into a fun hotel and casino made for families. Created by former Disney Imagineers, but without the involvement of Disney. The free show was a must see when every visit Las Vegas at the time.

The sinking British frigate ship was designed by Bob Gurr himself! The pirate themed hotel and casino was well down and fun. Before MGM bought it and ruined the theme in 2003 and dethemed the fun pirate theme into a boring, and bland hotel and casino that it is today. No wonder MGM sold it in 2008 to Phill Ruffian, because they know it is not the same anymore and the previous president at the time did the most stupid business decision ever by altering Treasure Island Las Vegas.

Former imagineers worked at the theme and attractions of Las Vegas at the time like the Excalibur, the Luxor, and New York New York for it heavy theme.

MGM stripped some of the theme for the Mirage, especially it's lobby. Luxor had some of its Egyptian theme stripped, and the Excalibur had some of its theme removed, but it is still there.

Monte Carlo Las Vegas got dehtemed and turned into the ugly boring hospital-looking 'Park MGM.' I still miss the original Monte Carlo for its simple French Riviera theme at the time. I won't visit Park MGM!

MGM is one of the worst companies to ruin already good looking and themed hotels!

Now the Las Vegas strip is getting boring, stale, and bland for its similar looking hotel and casinos. It looks more like a city than a themed entertainment capital of the world.

I miss the 90's Vegas the most, since I grew up going there a lot back in the mid 90's to early 2000's.

If Disney was ever going to get into the casino game, I think they would be added to the cruise ships first.

Disney types of casino sound like whiskey for kids. Anyway if you are an old fan of Disney’s movies and cartoons atmosphere there can be familiar to you. Anyway, I like more classical designed casinos. Unfortunately, I don’t spend much time in casinos. I have a busy schedule and I manage just to play online at poker deposit pulsa. That is a very good casino, which always pays. They work honestly.
