  • Best march day to go to SFMM? and which rides are closed?

This is my very first post here, and I don't want to sound like a n00b.

well, I'm going to SFMM on sat 13rd march. as many recomendations that the park will be kind of empty, I was planning on going the 20 but is the first day of the spring break season, so nevermind.

based on your experience, is this, the 13rd a good day?
I heard that x2 is closed, is that true? has anyone been there recently?
how do you think the weather will be like?

and any recomendations and/or suggestions would be great since I'm very excited!!

    thank you

    When is the 13rd?
"And yes, we implore EVERYBODY to follow the park rules. Having off-ride footage is great, but any still photo's or video's taken ON the coasters at SFMM are strictly against the rules. They are there for your (and everybody's) safety." "Six Flags doesn't allow ANY loose articles on their coasters, and they don't allow video taping on their coasters. " BUT, " This is not true. Six Flags does not allow ANY On-Ride video or pictures on the rides. The ONLY way is if you get explicit permission from Park Management." ???

If you want to go on the 20th, you could always do West Coast Bash:

        http://micechat.com/forums/other-the...ister-now.html

Sundays are generally not as busy as Saturdays, but you should actually be okay at SFMM until LAUSD and Ventura County Schools are out on Spring Break.

LAUSD and Ventura County both start on the 29th. So you should actually be ok with the 20th even if you don't go to West Coast Bash. Just be aware there will be approximately 700 Coaster Enthusiasts there that day.

Welcome to MC. Spring break starts here in Arizona on March 13th depending on what school you go to. Saturday is going to be a busier day than Sunday, No one can say how busy.

As far as X2 being closed not sure, I know the following week on the 20th during West Coast Bash (mentioned above in Sirclinks) that those of attending get exclusive ride time on it the morning so I am pretty sure that it will be open on the 20th.

For the weather I suggest you check accuweather.com when the time gets a little closer to when you are going. It is safe to assume that it will be chilly in the morning, warm up during the day and get cool in the evening.

As far as recommendations, if you want to get the most out of your day then I would go to West Coast Bash. I have not been to MM in 6 years and I know going with this group I will get the most bang for my buck and plan to then use my WCB fee to get an MM annual pass.

Well, last year during WCB we had a hail storm (which was AWESOME). March can get VERY cold (for SoCal ... so 40's) or be up in the 80's and close to 90.

SFMM is open 7 days a week beginning 3/22/10. Weekends will see a good-sized crowd, but the weekdays should be mostly light. For now, Sundays are the least-crowded days.
