    Re: Magic Mountain trip questions

Just went today and crowds were VERY light.

At first, the Flash Pass salespeople said it would probably be busy, so we bought a flash pass to use for the day. Basically, you choose a ride on the electronic screen, and the ride's current wait time from the time you reserved that ride is how long you have to wait until your reservation to ride is ready.

When you go to the ride the staff will just put you in the line right before the queue splits off into all the rows, so you can choose where you want to sit. (I wish you could just skip the line and go straight to the train,)

Normal weekday hours for SFMM are 10:30 am to 6 pm. It looks like they extended the closing time to 9 pm for spring break and so do expect some crowds.

Currently, Ninja and Roaring Rapids are closed.

According to Tim at WCB, Ninja is down for a full computer replacement.

Just glad the days of 'maintenance' meaning that a ride is going to removed are over.

True, but with the new Platinum Flash Pass, a rider can ride again without getting off after the first time. It's a pretty sweet deal IMO.

FYI, the park will always tell you it's busy and to get the FlashPass. My suggestion, wait until noon or so and if the park is busy, go get a FlashPass. A good indication is the parking lot. Ride Scream, Goliath or Colossus and look at the parking lot. If the 2nd section of the lot is being filled up by 11:30 or 12:00 it's going to be busy and Flashpass will be a good idea.

To answer your last question, orlandu, for most attractions, the employees check your flash pass before you get to the area where you get to pick your rows.

Off the top of my head, only on X2 will they assign you your row (unless very, very few other people are in line). For Superman, you'll most likely get the first row so that is assigned as well. But for everything else, you will be free to choose.
