  • Six Flags St. Louis closing?

I've been hearing a lot of rumors about this park closing. Since it is the one, nearest to me, and has a lot of history, this would make me really sad. I grew up in that park, and I have a lot of memories of it, even if it isn't that great of a park. Does anyone know if these sad rumors are true?

    Source?

I haven't heard any such thing. Considering they just opened up some new rides over the past couple of years and I believe their woodie just had an extensive rehab I find it hard to believe.

Maybe you are confusing this with the closure of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom?

I doubt it. It's not one of the Six Flags flagships, but it always does so well in the numbers department and having such a central location to St. Louis is a decent boon.

I haven't heard about its closure either.
Like sir clinksalot said, SFKK is the only I heard of closing.

I go to Six Flags St. Louis all of the time. It is my "home" park. I was just talking about getting my season pass. I haven't heard a thing about it closing down. If it did, I would be so MAD! They were super crowded last summer when I was there (3 hour wait for the Boss...give me a break!). I seriously don't see Six Flags St. Louis going anywhere.

I just bought a 12 pack of Diet Coke and the cans all have the "Everyone pays Kids price at Six Flags St. Louis" on them. It says it is good until 9/26/10. I think Six Flags St. Louis is safe for 2010.

Overreaction to the death of Kentucky Kingdom, SFOG isn't closing.

I'm so happy to hear this! A lot of people in our area have been talking about it, and it feels so good to dispel the rumors! Must be some hype that came with SFKK closing. Thanks for the info, guys!

Bananz...it is great to have someone else from the Six Flags St. Louis area on this board! I have some photos of my parents from when the park first opened that I keep meaning to scan. I haven't heard anyone around my area talking about Six Flags closing, but I recall that rumor spreading a couple of years ago. It seems to make the rounds.

Man, I was thinking the same thing! We have to travel a bit to get there, but it's not that long of a drive and I have so many memories there, namely waiting two hours to ride the Batman and chickening out right before we got on. My dad was relieved because he didn't want to go on it either! Do you know the River King Mine Train?
