  • Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure - Pictures

My picture threads consist of images I have taken that focus on the architecture, landscape architecture, planning, design, and theming of the facilities highlighted. They may also contain short descriptions and commentary, but will not focus on construction progress or special events or memorabilia or food selections or my traveling companions. Hopefully these threads are a good introduction for those who have not seen these places yet. All killer, no filler!

Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure photographed in November 2008:
Universal Orlando features two theme parks, one of which is the superbly themed and detailed Islands of Adventure, composed of 6 distinct areas around a central lake. Seuss Landing celebrates the famous stories and illustrations of Dr. Seuss with a fantastic three dimensional realization that is the park's crown jewel.

    Entry Arch:

    Caro-Seuss-el:
    A carousel ride.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish:
    A spinning ride.

    The Cat In The Hat:
This gentle dark ride faithfully retells the original story.

The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!:
This train ride tours the area and goes inside several buildings as well as winding around the shore of the central lake and past small outdoor Seuss-ian character scenes.

    If I Ran The Zoo:
    A children's play area.

    Shopping and Dining:

    Enjoy!

Everything about Seuss Landing is so twisted, whimsical and fun-tastic... the greatest mirth on Earth! One Fish Two Fish is a good ride to get drenched on. Cat In The Hat is totally insane, but wonderful for the brain. Caro-Seauss-el I can hardly pronounce, yet find it's magic irrisistable.

After all the years of waiting, it's nice to see The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! up (way up!) and running.

    Again, splended camera work!

Ride Warrior, I don't know the story of the High In The Sky, what was the holdup on it opening?
