  • Rated R

It just occurred to me that losing Backdraft is probably a much bigger deal than I originally thought. Wasn't it the first rated R film to have a theme park attraction based off of it? At this time, I can only think of one more other rated R film based on an attraction, and that would be Saw at Thorpe Park. Can anyone think of any others?

Maybe some of the movies in the Horror House are rated R and Movies on the study tour and there is a Jaws ride in Florida.
    Happy Halloween!!!

Hey y'all! I'm new! It's nice to be on the forums!

By the way, Terminator was rated R. So I guess that takes away from Backdraft's rating legacy.

The House of Horror has some R rated films in it (obviously).

The Blues Brothers was also R, and they have a live show if that counts.

Really, losing Backdraft ain't that big a deal. Who cares what the film rating was, it's what the attraction is all about. Saw Backdraft twice, and once was enough. I just dont thing it had the repeatability that is needed.

This bigger loss is the the special effects/sound stage, with the close up seating - hopefully they will be able to do something with the theater in the upper lot, to replace that.

But the show is based on Terminator 2 which is PG-13. Rocky Horror Picture Show is rated R and that had a show during HHN.

That's the current official plan. A new show is going to open up mid-summer in the Castle theater that will be similar to the effects stages.

Really? T2, from what I recall is rated R. Look it up on IMDb if you don't believe me.

I concur. A LOT of people think that movie is PG-13 though, for some odd reason. Totally blows my mind.

Back in those days PG movies tended to be a lot more intense than they are today. Rating Jaws PG was appropriate for the time period it was released in. If it were to be released today it probably would be PG-13.

I guess it must be a Light R. From what I remember there wasn't really anything that bad in T2.

I think it was R for language. But it WAS R rated.

I remember quite many bloody impalings courtesy of the T-1000. Through the mouth and such like that. Plus Arnie gets shot many times leaving bloody, metallic scabs and what not
