  • The Characters of Universal Studios Hollywood

I have to admit, except for an appearance by Doc Brown a couple years ago, I never paid much attention to the characters that frequent Universal Studios. The usual suspects like Shrek and Fiona, Groucho Marx and Zorro, just never did it for me. But then a couple months back as we were leaving the park, who do we see but The Nutty Professor (Eddie Murphy version)! So now I go out of my way to look for these characters. I love the randomness of it all. You never know who will be there. So now I've started photographing them, and I'm starting this thread in hopes others will post pics, memories, etc. of these characters. Has anyone ever compiled a list of al the characters? So I'm starting this thread with the Witch version of Lucy, taken 10/30/10.

This only happened once probably 5-10 years ago, but as an I Love Lucy fan, it really stuck out in my memory... but on the lower lot, there was not only a Lucy and Nutty Professor, but an Ethel. It was the one and only time I have seen the character of Ethel. They were doing (an improvised?) scene where the Nutty Professor accidentally had Lucy sample some sort of love potion, and she started getting attracted to the Nutty Professor. Ethel kept pulling her away, desperately saying, "No Lucy, you love Ricky, remember?" It was hilarious!
Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

Now I see it! Someone there is enough of a fan to do their homework. That's the same costume from the episode where she was in Little Ricky's school play.

Lucy: (feeding Little Ricky his line) Say, "You are the witch."

Here's another one.. I will call him "statue man" unless someone else can tell me his official name. He can usually be found standing as part of the statue display when you first enter the park. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed when he's not there! On this trip (10/16/10) I found him sitting on this trash can, and also got to see him walking across the park in slow mo, which is a sight to see!

OMG that witch Lucy looks so much like Lucille Ball! Awesome! I'd personally LOVE to get a photo with "Vitameatavegemin" Lucy as that's my all-time favorite episode of "I Love Lucy" (which is my all-time favorite TV show).

This week I got Dora the Explorer using her scarf to tease Alex the Lion like you would a kitten with a ball of yarn.
