  • First time at Universal Horror Nights

    Hey everyone!

After many years of 'dieing' to go, I'm finally making it out to Universal Horror Nights this year! I'm so excited! We are going on Saturday, Sept 29th and getting the Front of the Line pass.

Does anyone know any tips they could share to get the most out of the experience? We have APs so we are thinking of getting there a little early and hang out.

    Thank you for any information!

I'd go on AS many mazes as you can before the lines get big...the USE your front of the lines passes later...using them when the lines are 10-20 mins..just seems like a waste to me but that's just my advice

Also I would do the 3 mazes on top..then move down to the lower lot..then terror Tram...then bill and Ted and end it with the House of Horrors (skip this one until last, the lines dies down)
    Happy Halloween!!!

Don't do Terror Tram for the first hour. You want in to be nice and dark when you get out there!

There's been a lot of ideas on how to best go about it at the main HHN thread. Look there.
Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

But make sure it's before 9:30pm on Thursday and Sunday nights.

I would check out the mazes you're most excited for first and try to go in them without using your FOTL pass. This way you can get in them with minimal wait and revisit them later without having to wait at all.

We've also found that the lower lot mazes have little to no wait for the first hour or so. So maybe visit those first without your pass and come back to them.

Definitely wait until it's good and dark to experience the Terror Tram. Its not nearly as fun when it's still light out.

Utilize your AP and get there early. On Saturday nights the traffic can be bad. The offramps get backed up and you could be waiting a while to park.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN Post a trip report and let us know how you liked it!

This is true most years but with Transformers open, some guests will make a beeline for the lower lot first and ruin the predictable crowd flow.

                This is what I'd do...
Keep in mind that Universal now adds 5 minute to the wait time. So if you see something that says 20 minute wait, it really means 15 minute wait. If you see a 10 minute wait, it really means 5 minutes or less. Go Alice Cooper, then move to the lower lot. Go to Silent Hill, then Texas Chainsaw Massacre.Once you've done that, it should be about 45 mins or so into the event, if you've taken your time. By that time, the lines will start to get a little longer. If you want, you may hit Jurassic Park. The line for JP tends to be relatively short since people do not like to get wet during HHN. Transformers should have around a 30 - 60 minute wait at this time. If you desire, go to Transformers, and The Mummy. This may be a time to use your FOTL pass on those rides if the line is 60 min+.

Now you've done everything on the lower lot. When you make it back to the top, make note of what time the last Terror Tram departs as it sometimes sneaks up on me so thats what I do. Next, go to The Walking Dead and La Llorona. Universal Monsters: Remixed may have a 15 minute wait at this time so it would be a good time to go. Although with the changes they are currently making to it, it might be more popular this year. Now, go to Terror Tram. Make note of what time the last Bill and Ted starts on your way there. If done correctly, you'll end up with 1 - 2 hours leftover. Depending on how busy it is, you might have more. I usually finish up with around 3 hours left but I RUN to every maze, back and forth and usually go the first night alone... Well anyway, go to Bill and Ted and your done.
