I have thought of having Universal put in a geek land to compete with Disney's Star Wars Land.

Doctor Who: Travels in Time - a dark ride with a thrilling element, like a roller coaster. The ride will include Dalek animatronics as they are the main enemy. Space sections will be like Space Mountain, in the dark with stars. The Doctor and companion will have a video screen face, like the floating head in the Haunted Mansion, so that as the Doctor and companion will always be relevant.

Star Trek rides - not much at the moment, but rides based on each of the Generation of Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Voyager. Also, ride based on the new films

The Big Bang Theory: Sheldon's Lab. - Ride about Sheldon creating some anti gravity/time changer invention and you are the tester of it, with disaster. Ride starts with a preshow in Leonards and Sheldon's apartment, with all of the main characters. Using a video screen, it looks like real life. Then people get on the ride system (not sure what) and the experiment goes wrong. Using a hologram, the cast will contact you in how to save you and you go topsy turvey in different time periods!

Restaurants and Shop to be added later.

The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

Re: Geek Land (name could change over time)

After Star Wars, the only sci-fi property that would make sense for a full-scale immersively themed environment is Star Trek. It has a huge, international fan base spanning generations, and could sell a lot of product and induce repeat visits.
In actuality Star Trek is a much better fit for Disney theme parks, particularly Tomorrowland, since ST presents an optimistic future full of gadgets that have become reality, a fictional lineage from our current space program to the future, and ethical dilemmas that are resolved in mostly non-violent (at least in the Roddenberry vision) ways. That dovetails much more nicely with Walt's vision of TL than Star Wars or Buzz Lightyear does. Oh well...
