I'd like to know, also, how in the world can Universal
place an obvious Capt Jack and Disney inspired Davey Jones
in a Universal Studios Show????????????????????????
Isn't that like placing Mickey Mouse in middle of US-Orlando????
Certainly seems like copyright infringement.Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Also, as far as I know Copyright Infringement has to do with illegally distributing or unauthorized public showings. We need to get a lawyer in here to explain better!

Re: Davey Jones at Universal Orlando
If it's being done as a parody (as Saturday Night have done with
several Disney topics), there is some leeway there for portraying
various copyrighted things. Same thing for Political Cartoons.
BUT for Universal Studios to deliberately place 2 Disney Characters
into one of there own shows, in their own park is a blatant abuse.
Oh, I just remembered, I heard Knotts Scarry Farm, in some of
there shows, has poked fun at Disneyland.
But it still seems that for one theme park to make fun of,
abuse character rights owned by another company, when
it's being done in another theme park, just a couple miles away.
Like I said before, it would be like Universal Studio showing
a person dressed up as Mickey Mouse in there park, I can't
believe that would be legal, either.Last edited by Aladdin; 10-08-2006, 01:36 PM.Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Re: Davey Jones at Universal Orlando
From what I understand, and that isn't much, something can be deemed to be outside fair use if it can be proved it is confusing people regarding the real public. Universal probably gets away with it because A) it's clearly Universal Orlando and B) most people watching the show are probably on a side trip outside of Walt Disney World.

Re: Davey Jones at Universal Orlando
Actually, HHN is mostly a local affair, attended by people who go every year. I assure you, the audience knows what park they're in. The fact that it's clearly a parody show allows it, and I don't see what the big deal is anyway.
