  • Why no "It" maze at HHN?

Some (like our own Dusty), have stated that the 2017's HHN was underwhelming with not enough
live entertainment and with undersized scare zones,
and that last year Knott's Scary Farm won the battle for the best theme park L.A. Halloween event.

I'm glad HHN will have a Stranger Things maze in 2018, but shouldn't they also have an "It" maze?
If not, it'd be awesome if Knott's splurged on getting that this year.
I know that U has been the horror movie maze event,
but, Knott's, show us that anything is possible in this darkly magical season!

I'm guess it has to do with the cost of the movie rights

And honestly I'd hold off until next year with the Sequel coming out then for IT, I wanted IT REALLY badly last year but with Stranger things coming this year...I'm like maybe hold it off a year for both the sequel and to make 2019 have its own really big film.
    Happy Halloween!!!

I know this is an old thread but after HHN released their prices this year we decided to seek out somewhere else to go for Halloween. WB has an event called "Horror Made Here" they have an IT maze and also photo op. While I am sad that we will not be doing HHN for the first time since 2006 I am excited to see what WB offers. Supposedly this is their second year doing this. The other IPs aren't bad as well, the Conjuring, The Exorist, Jason and Freddy and the Joker!!!
These are some of my favorite TRs I have posted

        DL 55th BDAY trip report
My company had a special night at the park
        WdW trip report with WWoHP
        NYE 2011 trip report
        Mice Chat 7th anniversary
        Leap year 24 hour report
        New DCA trip report

          THANK YOU very much, Biggsworth!
The WB Halloween tour sounds interesting, but maybe overpriced?
I think this year we'll go to the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor
and to Universal's HHN because my daughter LOVES "Stranger Things."
My new plan is to go to Knott's (my favorite) every other year so 2/3rds of the mazes are new to me each time.

We are still going back and forth on should we go to HHN because of Stranger things and Halloween being my favorite horror movie. Also the weekend we are going to the LA area is the convention for 40 years of Halloween in Pasadena. We are doing WB for sure with one night open for either HHN or Dark Harbor. Dark Harbor is awesome for sure we have done it a couple of times and it is reasonably priced. We did Knots once and for whatever reason haven't been back. My gripe is getting over to Dark Harbor from Pasadena after the Halloween convention!!! I love October!!!!

Honestly, as much as I love Stranger things.....the WB event seems soo much cooler because it has the Joker and IT...not just Stranger Things (the other Universal mazes to me are meh...should have had Resident Evil for its upcoming game over the Blumhouse meh movies)
              Happy Halloween!!!

Joker maze has the potential to be amazing!!!! Yeah I am fatigued by the blumhouse mazes and honestly the Jabbowaceez show as well. I think we are going to do Dark Harbor for our second night in LA. I really like the story aspect and feel of the whole event. HHN has been missing that as of late and it feels so choppy.

I refuse to watch that show, i've seen clips online and it looks soooo boring compared to Bill and Ted.

Last year the Blum House was great, it was movies that made sense and people liked...but Truth or dare and unfriended? Who the hell cares and doesn't even work well for a maze.

Universal seems to really be grasping for straws on a few of the maze, Universal monsters? Like come on, use some video games IPa (Resident Evil, the Evil Within, slenderman, five nights at freddy's) over these crappy third rate mazes.
                  Happy Halloween!!!

I think it is just plain old cost cutting. Mashup mazes to me have always been super lazy. Also pushing the newer Blumhouses are really annoying when the stories don't work for a maze. Insidios was well done and is a great franchise for a maze as an example and I would welcome that one back by itself or a mashup..

                        I am

Also if my friends would be down, id much rather do the WB mazes. Yes Strangers things is going to fun and its the maze I have to do at Universal but the 3 mazes at WB are soooo much cooler than the overall mazes at Universal this year.
Honestly this year seems to be the most meh, year in a while Ive seen from Universal besides Strangers things, none of the mazes feel like must see
                        Happy Halloween!!!
