  • Jurassic Park ride converting to Jurassic world ride..... more info anyone?

So the news is out with scant details that the ride is changing at least in name. But has anyone been able to find out more. What will be added.... how much will stay the same?
I’m glad they’re throwing money at it because when I rode it a year ago almost to the day it was very disappointing. The dinosaur that explodes from the water didn’t work. The falling Jeep didn’t work. And that’s just the obvious things I was aware of. There might have been more not working.
Anyways...... if anybody has the scoop......

Not much besides a few new dinosaurs and the track layout being the same

It wouldn't be fair to expect it to be as Incredible as the unbelievable California Screaming upgrade. Hopefully the dinosaurs will still move. (Actually I have high expectations from the company that gave us the Wizarding World of HP. )

From watching the construction going on, the former Ultrasaur Lagoon is being replaced by some kind of building. There's not much that can be seen from around the park, but it looks like it will be more than just superficial changes. Speculation is that the Indomitus Rex will be coming to right before the final drop, and there will be greater use of screens than previously.

The whole complex including the gift shop and good location went behind a construction wall a little after the holidays were over.

Yes, almost the entire area after the first lift is covered inside a building now. The restaurant, gift shop, and restrooms are all behind walls now. The main show building is covered in scaffolding and receiving a grey paint job. The lagoon at the bottom of the drop is filled and there are currently two boats I can see are back in the water and covered up. The boats have been painted as well.
"And yes, we implore EVERYBODY to follow the park rules. Having off-ride footage is great, but any still photo's or video's taken ON the coasters at SFMM are strictly against the rules. They are there for your (and everybody's) safety." "Six Flags doesn't allow ANY loose articles on their coasters, and they don't allow video taping on their coasters. " BUT, " This is not true. Six Flags does not allow ANY On-Ride video or pictures on the rides. The ONLY way is if you get explicit permission from Park Management." ???

In the morning it was blinding in that Lagoon...so I'm kind Ok with it as long as mostly Anamatonics come back in that area

I would love to see Mummy go. Takes a long time to load and it is just not that exciting.

New artwork and details about the ride were released a couple of days ago, but nothing about the opening date besides the previously announced, "summer 2019."

Here is the new artwork in a tweet from Universal: https://mobile.twitter.com/UniStudio...37669320257536

Also, the official name of the ride will be Jurassic World - The Ride.

Once aboard specially designed rafts, guests will navigate the lush environs of dense vegetation, traversing new areas besieged with towering dinosaurs meandering just an arm’s length away from visitors. Encounters with such docile creatures as the Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus will quickly turn awry as predatory Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus begin to wreak havoc, turning guests from spectators to prey. When the Tyrannosaurus rex begins to battle one of the attraction’s new behemoth dinosaurs, the rafts will spill down a treacherous 84-foot waterfall as the sole means of escape.
