Hulk? All these are basically just some basic switchbacks with some slight theming or video running. I love Universal and it really seems that Universal may have knocked this out of the park (although its still a simulator which kills re-ridability to me) but I can't say that overall they're so much better than Disney at theming. Heck, just look at the awful concept for the coaster they're putting in USF next year. Ugh.
Well I personally think that they tied the Mummy in perfectly to New York. With the museum and the 'hot set' for filming the new movie, and the curse. Personally I thought it was brilliant. Also the queue changes so much from being a museume to being a sound stage, to being an elaborate set in an Egyptian tomb that has gags, and characters that frequet it.

Shrek- they at least have the movie playing and other clips playing so that you can place yourself in the world of Shrek. I personally think the preshow is better than the attraction.

Jimmy- ok you win... sucky queue.

Cat in the Hat- has a great queue with lines and phrases from the story that apprea on the walls to help get you into the the story, along with you being in the front yard, you get to enter the house before you wind up on the movie sofa.... brilliant set up and quite clear.

Juarrassic Park- Lush jungle queue, with unique juarrasic park videos to make you feel like it is a real destination, along with some models of the park.

Hulk- Videos explaining the gamma radiation and what the experiement in, while also having lots of lab like stuff to look at.

Then you have the AMAZING queues like MIB! OMG when I first rode that and took the 'elevator' down to MIB headquarters, and then you end up in the main room I was over the top!

Spiderman! WOW! You are at the Daily Bugle in the Comic book!

Dueling Dragons- who thought a queue for a roller coaster could be soooo amazing!

Posiden's Fury- creepy and totally sets the stage for an archilogical trip

Dudle Do Right's Rip Saw Fall- WOW! It winds and twists, and has a movie theatre, talking heads, lots of posters, fun audio!

JAWS- Gets you into the hokey fun of the Amity Boat Tours. Kind of tickels your chin before you get punched in the face by the Shark.

ET - A fantastic inside queue with the forrest, and a good preshow to help those who are not familiar with ET get familiar!

T2- Great corporate themed queue with videos helping you get familiar with Cyberdyne.

And I cannot wait to experience the Simpson's live and in person!

    Anyways... YAY Universal!

Well, Jimmy didn't have much to work with. It's basically their version of Stitch's Great Escape: a new coat of paint on a broken car.

Re: Simpson Ride Soft Opens at Universal Orlando!

When it comes down to the Simpsons ride, I am very excited seeing they really did a good job with this.

As for the debate on Disney and Universal, I have to say I really don't give a hoot on who's the best etc. The way I see it, Disney has done things better then Universal and Universal has done things better then Disney plain and simple. (The unlimited Universal Express from staying on-site KILLS Fastpass in every way possible in my opinion.)

For me as long as the parks do what they can to give a fun experience, then the guests win!

Sure we may have clones or re-hashed concepts, but as long as their good I'm not complaining since Disney and Universal are not the only parks that do it.

Though on a final note, when it comes to a attraction being replaced with the same concept. Jimmy Neutron was actually a nice surprise for me, while Stitch's Great Escape proved my opinion that you cannot have a "kid-friendly" attraction with Alien Encounters technology.
Disney and Universal fan for life!...Shocking ain't it?

I'm not crazy, now if you will excuse me I have tea time with the ghosts at Haunted Mansion.

I'm not a thrill junkie. Everest is thematically boring and uninspired.

I love the Disney attractions spoofs in the queue. I stole one for my avatar.

It also used the same ride technology that Universal developed from Revenge of the Mummy which debuted years before Everest.

What, that it goes backwards??? That was HARDLY new technology.

Not to even mention Everest and both Mummy coasters are built by different companies. (Mummy is Premiere, Everest is Vekoma).

There is nothing "Innovative" about Mummy OR Everest as far as the actual "Ride" is concerned.

It's the other stuff that makes it unique.

Revenge of the Mummy was the first ride to go forwards, backwards and forwards again. I am pretty sure that Disney nor Vekoma created the ride system originally without getting any ideas creatively from Revenge.

Well, Everest was likely in development before Mummy was, Mummy didn't require Universal to build a 199.5 foot tall mountain with three systems snaking through the mountain or the flipping track system. Universal used a Turntable, a relatively easy approach, not to mention Mummy's building was already built, as opposed to the massive construction process needed to build Everest. In reality, Everest and Mummy are as different as night and day.

Mummy Returns was pretty innovative in how it redirected you in another direction onto another track... and Everest did it too but in a different way. Both of these takes something that was already established and plussed it.

The only turn table that universal uses on the mummy, is at the end of hollywood's ride, and just before the uphill launch in floridas. The rest of it utilizes a very similar track transition that Disney uses.

uh, how do you know that? Not trying to accuse, but I find it farfetched that a ride like Mummy was in development for that long.
