2017 is a year of renewal for us, we have lots of exciting changes on the way for you, but we don't have time to deal with trolls and spammers. MiceChat offers a number of ways for you to communicate and get involved. We offer Facebook Groups and Pages, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest accounts. We have a front page filled with amazing content. We offer weekly meetups in the parks. Meets and events all over the world. Podcasts and videos. And we continue to maintain forums for your posting convenience. But with all those options, we can't be everywhere all the time. We need YOUR help. Please don't poke the trolls. Report posts and leave reputation. We'll do our best to keep the forums clean and active, but we can't do so without your help.

    The Making of Pinocchio
    3:00 pm, Theater tickets available online
    J.B. Kaufman, film historian and author of an upcoming book on Pinocchio, discusses the craftsmanship that went into creating one of Disney's most beautiful films. Learn how 750 artists collaborated to produce over 2 million drawings and get the inside scoop on what it took to turn Pinocchio into a real boy.

    Nature's Half Acre and Earth Day Family Craft Activity
    There's more in Nature's Half Acre than meets the eye! Take a look at all of the insects and flowers that live in our own backyards and find out how Disney captured these scenes using microphotography.
    After the screening we will have a craft activity. Learn about native Bay Area plants and bugs while creating your own flower or creepy crawly creature using all recycled materials.

    Janie Geiser, Director of the Cotsen Center of Puppetry and the Arts at California Institute of the Arts, discusses how the puppeteer works to bring a puppet to life. Join us for an intimate look at the creative process and craftsmanship that goes into puppetry performance. Learn about the future of this intricate craft and how it has been incorporated into different mediums. This discussion will be followed by a live demonstration!

    The String Circle Quartet plays an unusual and exciting piece by composer George Onslow (1784-1853). Onslow's work was admired by both Beethoven and Schubert. Jonathan Dimmock joins in for the Piano Quintet in E-flat major of Robert Schumann.

    Discover what it was like to be the voice of Wendy in Peter Pan from Disney Legend Kathryn Beaumont! She will discuss her experiences as a voice-over artist, what it was like to work with Walt, and how animation and voice acting combine to create all of our favorite animated films.

    Walt Disney tested new technologies in the Silly Symphonies and produced animated shorts with sound, color, and depth. Russell Merritt, professor of Film Studies at Berkeley and co-author of Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies, will discuss Music Land, Flowers and Trees, and The Old Mill among other groundbreaking shorts.
