I am hoping to go the museum when I visit Cali and SF in mid-september (though the friend I am going with isn't a big disney buff like me). I do have a few questions.

I heard that there is an AAA discount if you show your card when you buy the tickets upon arrival. Is this true? If so, how much of a discount is it?

Where do we park at? Is it in a good area? We are both unfamiliar with the area.

Is photography of any kind allowed anywhere inside the building?

About how long of a time frame should I be looking at spending?

    Thanks!
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

I think there is. I don't know how much.

It's on the grounds of the Presidio, an historic military base, now decommissioned. Like many military bases, the area around it isn't that great, but the base itself is very safe. There's plenty of free parking right in front of the building.

No, as much of the material is still under copyright and technically still belongs to Disney Corp.

Hard to say. You, as a Disney person, will no doubt be fanboying over every little thing (as did I), but your friend, probably not. Some people spend as little as two hours, others all day. Don't forget to make time for a screening at their theater.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, I'm at the Museum frequently.

Last I had heard, there's a AAA discount, but I don't remember the amount, and I can't find it on the website. Which is Home | Walt Disney Family Museum if you want to check it out

There is parking directly in front of the Museum and a parking lot on across from the large lawn which was recently installed. M-F there is a parking fee, about $5 for all day. No charge on the weekends - at least right now.

Is photography of any kind allowed anywhere inside the building?
Photography is allowed in the main lobby area, where many of Walt awards are displayed. No photos in the galleries. And not as much because of copywrite issue as that many of the artifacts are light sensitive. Just for FYI

If this is going to be your only trip and you really want time to explore, I'd play a minimum of 4 to 6 hours. There are areas to sit for a while in the galleries, and you can exit and sit in the lobby or cafe area and then return to the galleries. There really is a lot to see.

Hope this helps, and have a blast! It really is a great place. :yea:

Does anyone have a D23 (or other) discount code they won't be using for the WDFM? I am going tomorrow and would love to save a few Disney Dollars! Thanks in advance for a quick response!
