  • After Wicked Dinner Meet

    Hi Folks!

I know a lot of us are planning to go to Wicked on the 28th so I just wondered if anyone wants to have dinner together afterward or if one is already being planned. Since My family and I are from up north , we don't know the LA area well at all. We are just planning to stay in Anaheim since we're familiar with that area.

So I'd love to hear any ideas/suggestions anyone has! Thanks!

Mamabot is working on it... I believe that, because of the large numbers, she's going to compile a list of local restaurants and encourage people to go in smaller groups.
I'd love to have dinner w/you and the girls
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

sounds like fun, but since I'm seeing it at 8pm all the talking about would probably be not so good to hear. However, my friend and I will be having dinner before wicked. We're leaning towards the california pizza kitchen, but I want to see what else is close by...

                  Re: After Wicked Dinner Meet

Might I suggest the diner right on the corner. It's called "Hollywood & Vine." They are pricey... but the food is good and it's convenient.

Another tip: if you make reservations there, feel free to walk up the block and use their restrooms during intermission rather than stand in line at the theatre.

Musso & Frank's is close. This is old Hollywood at its best. Step through the door and step back in time. Share a booth with Spencer Tracy, Frank Sinatra or Bing Crosby. The food is good. The waiters are ancient and rude. The martinis are legendary. Hollywood history oozes from every inch.

Before the show, get a hot dog from the cart across the street. Tasty!

                  Enjoy the show, all!

(You could also go "slumming" and try the Snow White Cafe near Hollywood & Highland. It's a little bit of a dump... but a charming dump.)

What time is the play gonna be done roughly? Because the few of us that are doing the autism walk, might still be in the area and might wanna hook up someplace. MIGHT I say, MIGHT. Just curious.

It says 2.5 hours but it's closer to 3 so I'd say 4:30 to 5ish it'll be over.
Would be fun to hook up w/the walkers!

                            Re: After Wicked Dinner Meet

I posted something in the other Wicked thread, I will just repeat it here.

We are still trying to finalize a location for an after show restaurant for a large group for those who would like to do a big meet time dinner.

For those of you who are looking for a restaurant to go to on your own after the show, here is a list of restaurants that are near the Pantages.

I think for a matinee, these issues might be a bit better. There are also a lot of dining options at Hollywood & Highland.

As for parking, there is a parking lot directly across from the theater. The Hollywood and Highland complex offers a free shuttle to and from the theater. We tried this when we went to Wicked in July 2005. We cut it close getting to the theater. After the show, we ended up taking a taxi because we had missed the last shuttle.

I will be sending out PMs in a bit with your seat locations.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

May the Gumballs Be with You...Always.

                            NO GOATS!

I've been going there for years and have always been treated like visiting royalty. Even been seated before a movie star on occasion.

Also would suggest Off Vine, always wonderful food, service & atmosphere. And fairly close by as well.
