  • Mouse-Con Bakersfield - January 26th 2020

If you will be anywhere near Bakersfield, California on January 26th, I would urge you to come check out the Mouse-Con Bakersfield Disneyana fan convention. This is a great Disney-centric show featuring interesting Disney guests and lots of wonderful vendors. After several successful years of running this show in the San Francisco Bay Area the promoters is now branching out with an additional Bakersfield version. This is the same people who put on the very popular Bakersfield Comic-Con each year.

Featured guests for the 1st Annual Mouse-Con Bakersfield include Disney Legend actress Karen Dotrice (Mary Poppins, The Gnome-Mobile), actor Michael McGreevey (The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Now You See Him Now You Don't, Snowball Express, The Shaggy D.A.), Mary Gibbs (the voice of "Boo" from Monsters, Inc.), animator Rick Farmiloe (The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver & Company, The Rescuers Down Under), filmmaker & Disney illustrator Rick Law (Mulan, The Lion King II, Piglet's Big Movie, Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas), actress/dancer/voice-artist Margaret Kerry (live-action reference performer for "Tinker Bell" in Peter Pan), actor Keith Coogan (voice of "Young Tod" in The Fox and the Hound), Disney fine artist James C. Mulligan, Disney comic book writer Pat McGreal, Disney feature film and television animation artist & designer Chad Frye, Disney theme park documentary producer Jerry Cornell (Theme Parkology), and yours truly, actor/visual effects artist/animator/voice-performer/genuine dark lord of the Sith C. Andrew Nelson (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Galaxy Quest, Enchanted, Race to Witch Mountain, Marvel, World of Color).

There will be panels, artists, vendors, and cosplay contest, plus a chance to meet all the guests and chat with them. It's on January 26th at the Kern County Fairgrounds, Building 4 (The Arts Building) 10am to 5pm. Children 12 and under are free. It's going to be a lot of fun, I promise. Be sure to drop by this long-time Mice Chatter's table and say hello. Or as my Star Wars alter-ego would say, "It is your...destiny!" Hope to see you all there.
