  • Al Lutz

I was once curious about Al Lutz and so I was instructed by some kind people to start a thread about him in the Litter Box so here it is! :]

Do you like Al Lutz? How reliable is he? How many things has he predicted that has come true? How does he know all this information? Are you jealous of him (cuz quite frankly, I would like to know everything he knows)?
sigpic...After a YEAR I finally was able to figure out my password again! I'm baaack! Woohoo!(:

Yes, I love and adore him.

Very, when I want coffee, he gets it for me. If I want candy, he will find it for me. If I need a hug, then I get a hug

I don't recall him making any predictions, I'll have to ask him next time I see him and his crystal ball together. He has speculated on many things and some it has come true, some of it gets changed mid stream and some times nothing comes of it.

He could tell you, but he won't because then his sources would no longer tell him anything. Kapeesh?

Nope, because I know in time he will share what info he can.

    I hope this helped.

I don't know him at all. I may be the only person on the board who never has and still hasn't read his site.

            Re: Al Lutz

Time for me to bring up a little history for you young'ns. Way back in the beginning of the Internet, we had these things called "alt" groups, for example alt.disneyland and we would post little bits of text. That is when I first became aware of Al.

Then came html and a few websites, one of which was uber cool Disneyland Information Guide AKA D.I.G. this is where you could find out what all sorts of infor that was happening at Disneyland, the webmaster was the one and only Al Lutz. This is when I started stalking Al.

Next he helped create and establish another "devoted to disney board" and most of us read his articles over there. I personally never joined that board just because the only thing I was interested in was Al and Kevin Yee.

So lo and behold they split off from that group and become known as Miceage.com where they add a few more writers who are wonderful i.e., Sue Kruse. After a period of time, Dustysage had the brilliant idea of Micechat a site where we would all be welcome as a different kind of family and my love for Al was complete. So now you the history according of Al Lutz, according to me.

                      *Cough*, aren't you forgetting someone?

Al is the best! Neat guy, lots of great info, and an overall wonderful guy. His interests go beyond Disney, and I love it when he puts those tidbits into those articles.

                          Al is just ... Al.

                          A very good friend.

To others he is a mystical being who has the ability to predict the future and do good April Fools articles.

I've seen where he lives, no crystal balls to be found anywhere. No torture devices to get secrets out of Disney executives. At least not that I've seen.

Monorail Man is "Da Man". He makes this whole website operational. He is our Geordie, he makes us run faster and smarter. He is the man behind the curtain.

He is smart, friendly and sexy. He also happens to be Lola's cub. Am I back in your good graces or should I go on and on?

Here is a good article covering what Al Lutz does...

Beating the big guns on the Disney beat

"Beating the big guns on the Disney beat".

Last week, the Walt Disney Company announced a $1 billion-plus revamp of its Disney's California Adventure theme park, which has been plagued by low paid attendance and poor customer reviews since it opened in Anaheim in February 2001. The Los Angeles Times detailed the plans in a story the morning of Disney's press conference, writing that the plans were "first reported on the Wall Street Journal's website."

Actually, the plans first had been reported months earlier, on a website called MiceAge, run by long-time Disney-watcher Al Lutz.
I've been covering theme parks, online and off, for more than a decade. But Lutz is the dean of theme park reporters on the Internet.
