What's the difference between people buying into Captain EO vs. buying in to Christmas?

He had an attraction to everybody and everything!! But the media played it out that he was attracted to young boys more because they wanted to sell their story of him being a pedophile. He was a true philanthropist, who loved the world. He would help any child of any race, any religion, with any type of medical condition as if they were his own. Yet you only saw what the media wanted you to see, what they wanted you to believe.

Oh, boy. You seriously want to go down that path?...

Christmas is all about the piety, right? Nobody thinks about presents.

My only point was, if people's interest in Christmas was limited to:

-When do we get to go to church?
-When do I get to say my prayers?
-When do we get to light the candles and pray?

Then I wouldn't make the comparison. But, correct me if I'm wrong, it's become more like:

-What are you gonna get me for Christmas?
-Where am I going to find a gift for Dad?
-How am I going to pay for all these presents I have to buy?

So, what's the difference between "celebrating" Jesus' life and death with consumerism, and "celebrating" Michael Jackson's life and death by buying his music or purchasing an EO t shirt.

You're spending your money to "buy into" or "buy a piece of" the magic.

ok its gone from should EO come back or not to a comparison between michael jackson and christ?...even MJ would not like that comparison.. i know the beatles once compared their popularity to jesus and that caused alot of controversy

John Lennon said it, not the Beatles as a whole. And, he didn't mean it the way people made it out to be and he apologized profusely afterward.

Well, if only more people would listen to Christianity, and not think of it as "Oh, I've got to be so uptight and righteous all the time", then maybe it wouldn't get such a jocose tone to things. Christmas really is exactly that anymore. What am Igetting for Christmas? What am I going to get dad? And I think MJ would cringe if he was compared to CHRIST.
