Been done before Disney always wins because they provide other forms of head covering that works just as well.

I knew it was heading here when she was making the big deal to the press at the time. I always thought of her being a tool from the unions during their dispute with Disney.

She doesn't have a chance in this case. She went years without wearing one and then when she wanted to start instantly and because she couldn't she was being discriminated again. Disney gave her the options of removing her headpiece she tried to wear and still work her normal job, transfer her to a back of the house position and she could wear it or she could leave. She always left and went straight to the media saying she was sent home for it. Disney costuming made up 3 different themed versions for her to wear but she always rejected. She was also offered the possibility to transfer to 4 different jobs where she could wear her own.

Wonder what took her so long?

Do you have a source for this? As for what took her so long, I would imagine they tried to settle first?

There could be a number of things from settlement negotiations to her attorneys just trying to get their ducks in a row. A high profile case like this is not something to rush into.

I had the same thoughts about this. Why now? They did give her options and if she didn't like it then she could have easily left.

Her point of view is that she shouldn't have to leave. That's the basis of the suit, unacceptable options and non-accommodation.

Yes it's the same lady from a few years ago. Like others have said she will not win. Disney has try there best to help her even making there own head gear for her to wear and she refuse to wear it. So she will not win.

As much as I'm not someone to say every little theme needs to be kept....I'd say seeing a CM with a turban in some area's of the park would not per say take away from the theme..but would be kinda off

If I remember right Disney offered her many different jobs....better then no job at all

Disney is considered a "show" their employees "cast members" if this girl got a role in a Broadway show, or a movie she would not be allowed to wear her own head covering. She would either need to not accept the part or just decide that this part is something that is important enough for her to not wear a head covering. I do not see how this is different. Disney tried to accommodate her, but if it is something that doesn't work with their costumes, then so be it. I'm sick of people thinking that they are entitled to everything.

Disney does offer head covering for those people who need it for religious purposes. They are required to provide some way to fulfill that requirement and they did. Case closed.

Employee expression of religion has no place in any Disney Park. If you don't like it, don't work there. Let's get off of this topic.

She won't win. She's just being money-hungry. The goal here is to get so much bad publicity on Disney, that they settle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but keeping one's head covered in this religion is a requirement of the religion.

I read an article on it that said people said hurtful things to her about "camel" and so on, but she should have reported it. And it's no different than it would be if I tried to work in a restaurant with a beard and long hair, Disney would want that changed. If they had not offered her similar work backstage, I would be upset with Disney. As it is, I'm not upset with them and think she has no case.
