From the LA Times article.
Recently, there have been calls for removal of a hanging scene in the Haunted Mansion, noting its association with suicide and lynchings. Disney has heard those complaints, but for now, the scene will remain unchanged. “It’s been discussed for sure,” says Disney’s Michele Hobbs, who managed the Haunted Mansion refurbishment. “It’s definitely something that we’re thinking about.”
The hanging scene is "associated" with suicide. Who knew? I'm so sick and tired of this crap. As for the other, did you know that the largest mass-lynching in US history took place in 1891, when eleven Italian-Americans were lynched? Or didn't you know that this type of outrage was perpetuated against more than one minority group? When Italian-Americans begin petitioning Disney to remove the hanging scene, let me know.
