Great update as usual. I look forward to these as they come in. I just had one problem with today's, though.

I believe that all tour busses come with deeply tinted windows like that. I don't think there was any conspiracy to try to have dark windows to hide behind. The way this was presented in the update was with an unobjective and terribly negative spin. Also, there was a thread on here where a cast member claimed that she was out in the park for a bit minus her bus.

I always enjoy your articles Al, and appreciate all the info you offer to us when you can.

I'll be interested in seeing how well TDA handles crowd control next year at the opening and following months of DCA's Cars Land. Add in summertime crowds, and the end of a few refurb's in DLR, and you have one heck of a busy summer.

I'm assuming you don't have much news yet on what exactly WDI has planned to do with Alice. But I'm sure we are all very curious!!

          Again, thanks!

            Thanks for the update!

            Regarding, "
. . . visitors can expect that much of the day they’ll be held [emphasis mine] in staging areas for a time before being allowed in to explore the new land."
I hope the staging areas have restrooms and are entertaining, comfortable and pleasant.

And I hope (in the fall of 2012) after DCA is fixed up and running well during its first busy summer, more attention will be paid to beautifying the four parks at Walt Disney World, and not just the new Fantasyland. Their 50th is still over nine years away, but it would be nice if Walt Disney World didn't need a major, rushed, last-minute transformation to be worthy of celebrating that milestone.

What was most shocking to me is that The Little Mermaid attraction will take in almost as many people daily as the 3 CarsLand attractions combined. Long lines and aggravated guests I forsee. Interesting read Al.

Thanks! But, golly, I sure how the folks at Disney have considered how those 2-3 hours could be used to present that captive audience with a long DVC pitch! "OK, now no one is riding those cars till we get at least a dozen people to sign!"

The holding area could be stimulating enough so the little ones could be sleep deprived. (I understand that this can help people to agree. It's all about the kids.) And there could be a fun demonstration where "volunteers" try to relax while wacky DVC sales reps splash them with water. They can call this the "California Water Boards"!

Or the holding pen could show
                  an exclusive movie
                  based on a Disney ride:
                  Superstar Limo!
Directed by Michael Bay! Starring that delightful teen who did that "Friday" song!

I believe Walt always did his Disneyland walk abouts in an open vintage park vehicle for a better view and guest and cast member interaction.PD

This was a great update. Looking forward to next years re launch of the park. Count me in for that. The mad tea party is going to be interesting, obviously going to be a bit more colorful than elecTRONica is.
