Thanks for the article Sue.
Mary's work is amazing. You can see why her work has influenced countless illustrators and animation designers currently working at animation studios like PIXAR.
A display director from FAO Schwarz toy store showed me a sign that she had photos from It's Small World with the text "Everything I learned about design I learned from 'It's a Small World'." She had received it from her boss prior to taking over the department. I would agree. The ride does use amazing color, design, graphics, patterns, etc. I love how those black tunnels sections have unique cut out entrances that create a unique entrance to the next scene.
There will be a show of Mary Blair's work at the Cartoon Art Museum starting later this month. I was working on some graphics for the exhibit and I got a chance to see some of her paintings. Really amazing._____________________________________
