  • What are your thoughts of Micheal Eisner's tenure as CEO of the Walt Disney Company?

During Micheal Eisner's 21 year tenure at the Walt Disney Company from 1984-2005. Like the purchases of ABC and Espn and the golden age of Disney movies in the 1990's which helped the growth of the Walt Disney Company. But he had lots of blunders as the CEO of the Walt Disney such as the failure of Eurodisney and DCA which needs to go thru a 1 billion dollar renovantion so it can meet Disney's standards in order to be a good theme park. Do you think Mr.Eisner was a good CEO, a bad one or ok at managing the Walt Disney Company?

After Wells passed away, Eisner crowned himself as the Evil Emperor, dictating one bad decision after another, and breaking alliances and burning the bridges Wells built. Eisner made himself the most dispicable villain in all of Disney history.

I respect Eisner very much! After being brought in from paramount in 1984, he tapped unseen potential for prospective business ventures Disney was capable of. He created touchstone, Assisted Katzenburg in reviving Disney Animation, and saw to it that Disney became as successful as possible. He turned the company from multi-million to multi-billion for goodness sakes. Unfortunately after Wells had passed, he became obessesed with the notion that he and he alone could run the company. Even to the point of replacing Walt himself. Towards the end, yeah he grew out of control and needed the reality check that was the Stockholder Vote, but never the less there is no denying Eisner Saved Disney and ushered in the 2nd Generation of Disney Success... pay respect where respect is due

The demise of Eisner started with the loss of Frank Wells. Eisner's creativity and ambitious ideas propelled the company for some years. However, he did alienate many executives and expanded too aggressively (ie, Euro Disney).
