  • 2009 Summer Blockbusters - Which One Are You Looking Forward To?

Summer movie season kicks off on May 1st with the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman as we all know. Please take a vote and let us know which one, or ones, you're most looking forward to. I tried to put all the big ones up there, but if there is any that you feel deserve to be mentioned, or ones I may have forgotten, please feel free to let us know. I pulled from a list on summerblockbusters.com. But it wasn't completely accurate because the list for 2009 stated the A-Team movie was coming out in June, but that has been pushed to 2010 at least with no cast listed.

two separate threads, merged because first one didn't take the poll option, and the second did.

Can't say any of them I'm dying to see. Up's a must because, well, it's Pixar. Harry Potter because I'm too far in to stop watching the series now. Other than that, I think this year's lineup is mostly an underwhelming list of stale franchises. No Indy, no POTC, no Dark Knight. Meh.

Keep in mind.....you notice the space between transformers and harry potter? One of the main reasons why HP was moved to July was to take advantage of the lack of blockbuster movies during the month of July. There aren't a whole lot due to the writers strike that happened a year ago.

I'll see Up for sure. Most likely I'll see Happy Potter. All of the others either I don't care to see or think think well enough to plan ahead to see them.

Star Trek for me. Up and Harry Potter follow. The rest I'm not interested in, but my friends will drag me out to Transformers for sure. Night at the Museum 2 draws my attention only because our "Enchanted" one Amy Adams is in it, and I haven't seen the first one.

I saw the preview for Star Trek, and although im not a huge fan of Trek It looks amazing...

I so want to be Uhura

Harry Potter will be good of course. So I'd LOOOOVE to see that. This is one of the darkest books in the series I'd love to see what they do with it. But besides those two and Night at the Museum 2 (because I liked the first so much)

                Not much

What are Indy and POTC if not 'stale franchises'?!

I agree though that 2009 has little to get excited about. I thought 2008 turned out pretty well for summer movies with stuff like Iron Man, DK, Indy (I liked it so sue me!) etc.

'Up' for me by the way.

Star Trek, Up, and Land of the Lost.

Star Trek because I've been a Trekkie since I was young and Zachary Quinto is playing Spock! Up because it's Pixar and I love the concept of the story. And Land of the Lost because I walked on a set piece last April (got chased off of it too) and it was my mom's favorite show when she was little.

EDIT: I was able to get some pictures of the set before I was told to leave.

This was up in Lancaster, CA

I am definitly looking forward to seeing Zachary Quinto as Spock. He is great as Sylar and it will be great seeing him in this film.

Up because as a CNA the look on the CNA's faces as his house was taking off was awesome so hopefully the whole thing will be just as good (and it won't be like Wall E where I'm sitting in the theater thinking "pressure ulcers" the whole time.).

I'm a space nerd. I like Chris Pine, and a big Sylar fan so yay for Star Trek.
