  • Dr. Phil

I have watched Dr Phil a few times... He started his 4th season this week. I wasn't impressed with the shows that I have seen with him, it really didn't grab me.

What do you think of Dr.Phil?
    ...it's been a long time.

    He's the devil
Seriously, I can't stand him. You know how there's always someone, celebrity wise, that just annoys the crap out of you, so bad that you turn the channel instantly if even a commercial comes on, yeah that's him to me. Ugh he makes me CRINGE

It's become repetitive and formulaic. I think the exploitation of people who want to be on TV is not a good thing. Even if there is a lame attempt at trying to help them with another problem.
Off the TiVo. That's a major blow in our household.

I HATE to say this. I LOVED Dr. Phil for a long time. The last season and the beginning of this season have just been kind of boring to me. I looked forward to the Dr. Phil families and the original weight-loss challenge thing, but last season they introduced us to these families he was going to help, and then we didn't see that much of them throughout the season. I like Dr. Phil, but his show has kind of gone blah to me.

I've never watched his actual show, but I remember seeing him for the first time on Oprah like five years ago, maybe six?

He was talking with this couple who had young kids like me and the wife was making the husband miserable, because she was SO stuck on how much he didn't do around the house, that she started keeping a journal of how much time she spent on housework and how little he did.

I wasn't that bad, but let me tell you, I was keeping a mental tally of how much my husband didn't do and I was becoming a nag. Seeing that show....it helped me just LET IT GO.

My life has been a billion times better as a result. Doesn't mean that I haven't been frustrated here and there, but I don't nag, I'm not all tied up inside, I don't "keep score" in my head, etc. That's just not even a part of my life anymore.

So I don't watch his show, but I know that watching him once turned my marriage around. Funny how such a tiny thing can be such an eye opener.

The last time I watched his show was when he had a teen on their who was a liar and molested his younger sister. What a screwed up family that was.

              Shmuck. End of story.
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
              Marge: Pink.
              Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

Not a fan in the least. Like D-mom said, he is one of those people that makes me turn the TV as soon as his face shows up.

Oprah's goon. I dont think you need to go on national television to help your problem with a celebrity. Also people can be helped other then Oprah and her minions. We don't need either of them to help people to purchase the next book or trendy clothing line. So no I don't care for Dr. Phil.

Gosh, I like Brad Pitt AND Dr. Phil. <ducks>

But I never watch TV. I mean, never. The last time I turned on the TV for me was May, so I never really see his show.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...
