Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in "Inception," the sci-fi action film Christopher Nolan wrote and is directing for Warner Bros.

Nolan set up the project less than a month ago at Warners, the studio where he made his Batman films as well as "Insomnia."

"Inception" is described as a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within "the architecture of the mind."

Chris and Emma Thomas are producing via their Warners-based shingle Syncopy Films.

Nolan and the studio are aiming for a shoot this summer for a 2010 release.

DiCaprio next appears in Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island."
