  • Will Disney open an American History park in DC, finally????

    Disney's America 3.0?

Disney has purchased land in Washington D.C. to build a major resort/water park/themed area....basically, the head designer said that since Disney failed twice to build an American History-themed park, this was their attempt to "do it" right. The designs showed a very, very large historical-type resort hotel with an adjacent water part. They said, however, this plan was in the very early stages.

This sounds more like Disney proceeding with their themed resort initiative (ala Great Wolf Lodge) rather than an amusement park akin to what their "Great America" project was planned to be.

I agree that this is not going to be a major theme park. I've seen an aerial view of the land they bought, and it just doesn't seem enough. This will most likely be another DVC or Adventures by Disney resort. I'm game for another waterpark though.

I hope not. Another Disney park here won't be able to have success, especially there. They probably won't get it right. It just doesn't feel right...I'm getting a bad feeling about it

I think it was on Yesterland. I can't really remember. Perhaps I shouldn't have said "aerial view" anyway... it was more like a map.

We're not talking about Michael Eisner's failed Manassas Virginia "Disney's America" project. We're talking about a new development that seems to involve the Disney Hotel business they are launching nationwide.

Nope. It's just going to be a hotel for the most part.
