Movies that need to get the "Deluxe" DVD Treatment

In the new "Secret of Nimh" thread, it was mentioned by a few people that they don't own it because we are waiting for a deluxe DVD edition. I figured it would be cool to discuss what other movies we feel need to get some love.

Fire and Ice - This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Is this even on DVD period?
Secret of Nimh - Already mentioned, but it needs one.
Original Star Wars Trilogy - Yeah, Yeah, you know it's gotta be mentioned.

    What are your picks?

I just remembered none of the Muppet movies have received this treatment either. There's something that should be fixed.

Did they ever release the Muppet Christmas Carol in widescreen yet? If not, they need to do that.

Ducktales the Movie is also in dire need of a special edition treatment.

Yes in 2005, along with Muppet Treasure Island, here's a review of it:

Re: Movies that need to get the "Deluxe" DVD Treatment

The term "Deluxe Dvd" can be open to interpretation. For example a Dvd edition of a movie that has the label of "Deluxe Dvd" or Special edition could have less bonus stuff on it than a Dvd edition of a movie that does not have the label of "Deluxe Dvd" or Special edition. Also I am always happy to see more bonus stuff from any movie. In a way I might would like to see all movies that I like come out with a Dvd edition that has more bonus stuff than any other Dvd edition of that movie that has ever come out before. So it might be hard to explain what my interpretation of "Deluxe Dvd Treament" means in this post.

Anyways some movies that I would like to see get a "Deluxe Dvd Treatment" would be

                1. Dumbo

                2. The Secret of NIMH

                3. The Last Unicorn

                4. The House By the Cemetery from Director Lucio Fulci

                5. The Disney version of Treasure Island

                6. The 1975 version of the Little Mermaid from Japan. I am talking about the version that has the same ending as Hans Christian Andersen's book. This movie was released in the United States in 1978.

                7. The 1973 animated version of Charlotte's Web

                8. I would like to see all the Herbie films have a Dvd edition with lots of bonus stuff.

                9. One Magic Christmas

                    Ok my picks...

                    The Breakfast Club
Pretty In Pink (they really need to dig for that lost original ending footage they hyped up about in the "Just Duckie" edition and then failed to deliver)
                    Secret of NIMH (already mentioned)
The Goonies (there were more deleted scenes than the ones on the current DVD)

I'll probably think of more later.

Yes! Breakfast Club for sure (one with a commentary with all 5 kids) plus Footloose, Some Kind of Wonderful and other 80s teen movies that have not got the treatment.
I like The Happiest Millionaire. What's wrong with that?

                        Those two definitely.

I was also disappointed with the new rereleases of the first three Indiana Jones movies last year. My disappointment was that they were single disc sets rather than 2-disc. Lucasfilm does have enough material in their archives to produce 2-disc sets. For example, there is a "Making of" special for Raiders that was aired back in the 80s. This was available as part of a cereal mail-away when the first three movies were released in the original boxed set in 2004. This special could have easily been added to the Raiders DVD. Also, Lucasfilm made some great documentaries for the Young Indiana Jones series. It would've been great to see documentaries made on each macGuffin that was featured in each movie, i.e. documentaries on the ark of the covenant, Sankara Stones, the holy grail, the fertility idol, etc. I was surprised that even Crystal Skull didn't have a documentary done on the real crystal skulls like the Mitchell-Hedges skull. There was even that Myth Busters episode that could've been included.

A good example of a DVD release done right was The Aviator. They included documentaries about Howard Hughes that were done for the History Channel. If the movie's story is based on real people, objects, or real events, adding some documentaries about the real stuff gives it that extra value over other DVD releases.
