On Friday October 23rd at The Iron Giant 10th Anniversary Reunion event held at Warner Bros. Pictures I spoke to two-time Academy Award-winning writer/director Brad Bird about his next film, '1906'. It is to be a live-action feature set during the San Francisco earthquake. '1906' will be a co-production between Warner Bros. Pictures and Disney/Pixar.
So where is the project at at this point in time?
Brad Bird: It is just ongoing, we're working it. It is just such a hard time with all the sequels and franchises.
And studio upheavals? and large budget fears?
Exactly. It is just a tough environment to proceed in.
