  • Problem with Canadian UP DVD?

Just wondering if any Canucks on the board are having the same problem.

This is regarding the DVD that came in the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo pack. When it starts playing, the first thing that pops up is the language menu screen. So I picked English. Then the trailers begin, but... all the text is in French, however the sound is ok as it's in English. The main menu is ok, it's all in English, including all the credits in the shorts.

I tried two different DVD players, my laptop and our main DVD player that's connected to the TV. Both players did the same thing, so there must be a bad batch of DVDs out there. I bought mine at Walmart so I don't know if this is just isolated to the Combos Walmart was selling or not.

Anybody else get French text with English sound during the trailers? (The text is not the captions, but the title cards and the on-screen text during the trailers)

It's not really a big deal, but.. this is the first time I've encountered a flaw like this on a Disney DVD. Should I contact BVHE about it?

I'm surprised this glitch got past their QA department.

    Hi Barbossa,

I live in Ottawa and I was having the same problem you reported. I returned mine to Best Buy and got my money back. I ordered one from Amazon in the US instead.

I heard from other people on the Ultimate Disney board they are having the same problem as well. The only part that is affected is the trailers. the rest works fine. I guess someone in QA over at BVHE wasn't paying attention when they let the discs go out.
