  • Summer 2010 movie season

The end of March is here. The winter is over. The winter Olympics are over . What to do next? Hit the theaters! The summer movie season is just one month away.

I lost track of what' coming out this summer but this is what I can remember off the top of my head:
    • Iron Man 2
    • The A Team
    • Prince of Persia
    • The Sorcerer's Apprentice
    • Toy Story 3
    • Robin Hood
    • Marmaduke
    • Piranha 3D
    • Predators
    • Shrek Forever After
    • Inception
    • The Last Airbender
    • The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
    • Jonah Hex
    • Grown-ups
    • The Expendables
What else is on the list for the summer?

Looks like 2010 will be a little slower like 2009 was but 2011 is shaping up to be a full summer like 2008 was.

    Re: Summer 2010 movie season

I have to include April's Clash of the Titans and Kick-*** among the pre-summer flicks my friends and I plan to watch. Besides most of the flicks on your list, Christopher Nolan's Inception (July 16) is a biggie for this summer that's got a slow burn kinda marketing campaign, so I'm not surprised you didn't have it on your list. We're also probably going to watch Jonah Hex (June 18) as well, since it's based on another popular comic book series and we're still comic book geeks well into our 40's and 50's.

These are the movies we'll be seeing in the theatre this Summer:

        Clash of the Titans
        A Nightmare on Elm Street
        Iron Man 2
Shrek Forever After (I liked the first 3, so sue me)
        Toy Story 3
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (I know I'll be dragged to it)
        The Last Airbender

          Re: Summer 2010 movie season

The only films I know I will be seeing are:
          • Toy Story 3
          • Iron Man 2
          • The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (I choose almost every film my girlfriend and I see, so its the least I can do. She'll be dragged kicking and screaming to TRON: Legacy)

A few others sound interesting, but I am just not really excited for them. I think my excitement for TRON: Legacy has me almost completely forgetting the summer.

Grown Ups looks funny. I would like to see another trailer before I decide on that one though.

I will defiantly be seeing Toy Story 3 this summer.

                    Toy Story and Robin Hood.
Probably Prince of Persia since Jeff wants to see it.
And A-Team, if it looks good.
                    Good morning, son
                    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                    It was pain
                    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

^ ooo, yes Robin Hood definitely. Looks great.

Also Iron Man 2, and I'd have to add Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Big fan of Edgar Wright movies.

                        Re: Summer 2010 movie season

Another one no one has mentioned, the live-action Marmaduke.

I didn't include any movies that are showing in April as the summer movie season traditionally starts in May, however, it seems this year the summer movies are spilling into April with the Clash and Elm Street remakes.

I'm also looking forward to Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and DisneyNature's Oceans, but these are spring movies.

Edited: Forget Wall Street 2 as a spring release (was supposed to come out in April). I just noticed on IMDB that it got pushed to September 24.

Letters To Juliet (#1 on my list right now, coming out mid-may)
                          The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
                          Toy Story 3
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

Marmaduke? REALLY? Garfield was bad enough, I can't imagine how bad this is going to be. I haven't even heard anything about it.
